Temecula Valley Cheese Co such a find in old town, Temecula, with varieties of mellow and ripe cheeses. The owners have branched out to make their own Sassy Mamas Mustards like Giddy garlic cracked pepper and Pompous Pomegranate mustard which are tasty with Vella Monterey Jack from Sonoma. The lively mustards are made from local Temecula ingredients in small batches and pack lively flavors.
I became creative with my “Cheeky Cilantro Lime” Sassy Mamas Mustard by using small amounts in 2 pasta salads. Rotini salad with chicken, red and green bell peppers, celery, carrots and red onion was tasty with my dressing of olive oil, rice vinegar and the mustard which added vibrant flavors. Then I sautéed cabbages and onion with olive oil and wine, added cooked vermicelli noodles and left over diced steak. Drizzled on the same sassy dressing and it was an easy and delightful dinner. The pasta-bilities are endless!
