I introduced myself to perky Executive Chef and owner Kathleen Blake of The Rusty Spoon in Orlando, and when hearing I was from San Diego, she said, “My Sous Chef is from San Diego”. Into the wide open kitchen I went and met Sous Chef Reanna Reyes who was prepping and carefully removing little bones from Porgy fish. Chef Reyes is from National City with family in Vista, and both chefs worked in harmony making the food production seem so easy. Chef Blake has earned many awards, such as being a James Beard nominee, 7 Silver Spoons and Best Chef South.
