Gastropubs and restaurants have made their mark in Orlando and it’s all due to chefs willing to be edgy with the best ingredients.

The Ravenous Pig is highly acclaimed in Winter Park, Fl as is sister restaurant, Cask and Larder in the Orlando airport.  Owner/chefs James and Julie Petrakis know how to feed the foodie’s appetite with smoked meats, farm fresh produce and over the top cocktails. Each place has menus to please the casual diner or traveling passengers with spunky designs on making sure you received hearty food.  #the ravenouspig #caskandlarder #ChefJamesPetrakis #ChefJuliePetrakis

I introduced myself to perky Executive Chef and owner Kathleen Blake of The Rusty Spoon in Downtown Orlando, who was busy tending to the orders lining up and ready for table service. Chef Blake has earned much recognition, twice being a James Beard nominee, Golden Whisk and Best Chef South winner. She was way ahead in the farm to table dining scene because her foods are made exceptional by knowing the best suppliers.  The special sandwich of the of the day was ham and pimiento cheese and I must say the best ham and cheese sandwich ever! #therustyspoon  #ChefKathleenBlake
