Driving on the 15 freeway to Las Vegas, I saw billboards past Barstow advertising Eddie World with the best restrooms, freshly made foods and housemade ice cream. You can’t miss the 65 ft ice cream sundae in Yermo, Ca where Eddie World is located. So we stopped for a quick break because it brought back memories of Stuckey’s, the old road stops.   I bought a Peet’s coffee and checked out the candies. And the restrooms are state of the art!

Once in Las Vegas, we dined at Rao’s Italian where fresh made ravioli purses are just my style of a purse. Each little folded purse is filled with pears and ricotta cheese then finished in browned butter and sage. A divine dish to share.

Then while driving around Las Vegas, I happened to find Jean Marie Auboine Chocolatier. Executive Pastry Chef Jean Marie is an esteemed Master Chocolatier and these beauties are almost too pretty to eat, well almost.

Never turning down a good food tip, we spotted decadent pancakes at Babystacks Cafe. It was a tough decision reading the tasteful menu descriptions of made from scratch pancakes. The popular Red Velvet, Banana Foster and Chocolate Chocolate won and lived up to their names. Why gamble when winning pancakes are served!

Penny slots and good bbq are the draws at Ellis Island Casino off the strip in Las Vegas. Chicken and baby back ribs are what’s on the menu in this no pretense restaurant. The baked beans are made with root beer and there’s 5 choices of beer with dinner for an extra $2. Lots of sauce was mopped on the meat and on my face and hands when dinner was done.

48 hours of eating in Las Vegas and we only scratched the surface.  A return trip is calling me!
