Who knew in an area bordered by train tracks, overhead electrical wires and a UPS distribution center is the oldest producing winery in Los Angeles. Far from the usual idyllic and scenic wineries, San Antonio Winery is 1 mile from Union train station on Lamar St.
Once I found the parking lot and saw the front of the winery, I knew this would be a nice place. Nearing 100 years in the same location, as other wineries have closed in LA, San Antonio is producing more than ever.
Inside the spacious building is highly rated Maddalena’s restaurant and ongoing special wine events. Stefano and Maddalena Riboli are in their 90’s and come to their winery almost every day because it’s in their heart and soul.
