Sweet aloha spirit with owner Leilani in her Leilani’s Cafe on Cass St, Pacific Beach.  Leilani’s food is made just like her Hilo family cooked in her old Hawaii days.

Not only is the restaurant turning out meals, Leilani’s Attic next door sells hula gear and all things Hawaiian to take home, like a ukulele and aloha shirt.

They also make fresh flower lei’s by hand to wear for special occasions.  She took time from making graduation leis to give our Iwo Jima vet Bill Behana, USMC MSgt. (Ret.) some aloha love!  He trained on the Big Island before shipping out and Hawaii holds a special place for him.

I should say the Loco Moco plate was huge and the spam musubi tasty.  Plates of French toast on sweet Hawaiian bread were served for breakfast and I will order the good looking plate next time because it looked so delicious.

We felt like ohana in her Hawaiian restaurant and that’s the true aloha spirit.
