Hawaiian Style Café in Waimea dishes up large plates of Hawaiian food while the regulars order their favorite meals sitting at the counter. It’s been written about in nearly every travel magazine and is an off the beaten tracks experience. Keoki and Ron do serious cooking in the small kitchen and homey food is the order of the day.
We dived into the traditional Hawaiian breakfast of Loco Moco which is rice topped with 2 hamburger patties, grilled onions and gravy. Oh so filling. The other breakfast was Kalua hash, pork with potatoes, fried rice and eggs. I would have loved to order the sweet bread French toast but couldn’t finish what we had in front of us.
