I’ve been hearing about this sweet delight which looks like a donut and named the cronut where they originated in NYC. It’s made much the same way as a croissant with layers of butter and fried to be crispy.
The pastry chef at the Hyatt Regency, Indian Wells, Ca, dusted the nuggets with sugar and finely minced Indio dates and named them “date donuts”. It simply melted in my mouth and perfect for a gourmand seeking a step above the average donut. Can you imagine eating these while warm?!
