In May 2023, we were in London just before King Charles’s Coronation. The city and country were excited about the event and most were in a celebratory mood. Banners lined the streets and foods were made which King Charles liked in restaurants and pubs, like Coronation chicken which is chicken salad with yellow curry.
I had to order chips (french fries) with my Coronation yellow curry chicken sandwich at The Cock & Lion pub.
We left London for Dover, England to join our cruise ship and visit the British Isles. Leaving the white cliffs of Dover, England, the ship arrived to Cherbourg, France. On a Saturday morning, the markets were filled with shoppers buying bread, cheese, fish, vegetables and sweets. I loved seeing the people dressed for market day with basket in hand.
I must admit this lifestyle looks relaxed and simple and just what I need!
