Strawberries are plentiful this season, sweet and juicy. I made shortcake biscuits for traditional strawberry shortcake. Its an easy recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction and is delicious. Must have whipped cream, of course! Do you remember the Strawberry Shortcake doll?

Raggedy Ann is the popular rag doll from the early 1900’s. She was created with red hair and a triangle nose from a character found in a children’s book by author Johnny Gruelle. I baked a peach cobbler with the recipe from a good old basic cookbook, the red and white checkered Better Homes and Gardens. Both classics to this day.

Chatty Cathy was so much fun when the string was pulled on her back. She’d say “I love you” “may I have a cookie” “will you play with me”. This is Chatty Baby and her voice box quit working after hundreds of pulls. I tried to have it fixed many years ago but no one fixes them. She can still have a cookie!
