Two significant establishments serving healthy, flavorful foods and concentrating on organic and no GMO’s is Mala Ocean Tavern and Maui Sugar Shop. Mala reminded me of PB’s World Famous restaurant, rustic and woody on the ocean’s edge. The Asian fried chicken is not typical fried chicken but cooked in a Sous Vide and lightly coated with Asian rice balls for the necessary crunch. Molokai purple potatoes make the best mashed potatoes.
Maui Sugar Shop can accommodate gluten free, vegan and Paleo and just about any other dietary need. I sampled a lilikoi muffin,banana bread and quiche and they tasted like the real thing. #Mala Ocean Tavern #Maui Sugar Shop
