Lawry’s Prime Rib, on La Cienega Blvd, Beverly Hills, created by the owners of Tam O’Shanter restaurant, opened in 1938. This is where valet parking and doggie bags had their start. The female servers wear pressed uniforms, big bows and head pieces to compliment the men wearing vests and master carvers with tall toque pleated hats. servers_edited

It’s classic style prime rib with creamed spinach, creamed corn and Yorkshire pudding. The show begins with the spinning salad as dressing is poured from high above. But the real hit is the silver cart brought tableside and stacked with slow roasted prime ribs. A Master Carver earns the medal by being able to portion the meat by sight within ¼ inch.  Thanks to Lawry’s for hosting us for dinner and my opinions are my own.
