This old time Italian restaurant has been a landmark in Little Italy for over 50 years and still going deliciously strong. I’ve been coming here since I was a young girl and it has a special place in my memories. The food is consistently good with rich red sauce, sausages and my favorite torpedo sandwich, not to mention the big pizzas.
Décor of hanging Chianti bottles signed by patrons line the interior and old fashioned red and white checked tablecloths are on each table. Talk about throwback to the 60’s! Not to be missed is the little counter near the entrance selling Italian cookies, bread and deli meats, and of course, dried whole fish.
With the growth of modern and upscale Italian restaurants in Little Italy, casual Filippi’s is a wonderful mainstay.
