I have always heard what a beautiful city Prague is with the very old buildings and town squares but it must be seen to be believed. Snowing and cold, we hired a private driver and tour guide and he escorted us all around town and we saw the most fabulous architecture and historical sites. Daniel (420.603427079) a native Prague citizen gave us information about well known buildings and squares in the new and old city, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and numerous ornate churches. The buildings and especially each unique wooden door leading to a special place were picture postcards with historical meanings.  He drove us to the front of the Government Palace and the changing of the guard was taking place.  A little smaller scale than Buckingham Palace, the guards wore big ceremonious hats, long warm coats and armed to the hilt.  They stood guard in their telephone booth like guard shacks. Especially fun to visit was entering the Christmas markets in Old Town Square where the astronomical clock is located and the entire scene was like a fairy tale. He also showed us the oldest synagogue in Europe in the Jewish Town. I highly suggest Daniel for the tour and I plan to come back in spring when the many city gardens are in bloom.
