Bishop Museum is not to be missed and its recent remodel has only enhanced this gorgeous building of history and artifacts about the islands.

Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop generously ensured the farm lands went to an agricultural trust and Kamehameha schools use the land in Punalu’u to improve the state’s sustainability.   Its a welcome mission for the schools and population to grow and maintain their lands rather than import.  Later, the friendly team cooked a meal of fresh farm raised fish, poi and the best coconut pudding made from juicy coconuts and topped with sweet potato pudding.  Now that’s a meal from the land.

Later, dinner at Duke’s Restaurant, right on the water had edible tasting spoons which the ahi poke was served on. Crispy, like a tortilla chip.  And they served my favorite dessert, Hula Pie which is a big stack of white chocolate macadamia ice cream on a chocolate crust and thick fudge sauce poured on top.  I asked for extra fudge sauce to make it even more decadent.

And more chocolate, at the Outrigger Canoe Club, an impressive buffet was served along with Chantilly cake.  I thought the cake was southern but after my research, it is an Hawaiian dessert and similar to German chocolate cake.  Tender and moist  chocolate cake and the frosting is cooked with butter and milk.

How will I fit in my clothes to go home after eating days worth of delicious food?
