Our drive to King Arthur Flour in Norwich, Vermont was a dream come true for bakers like me. How I love their flours and other items for supreme baking! I use their online baking recipes and my sourdough breads come out so delicious. The company is employee owned and maybe sometime I’ll take one of their classes. Thankfully we can buy the basic flours at home and it’s always a sure bet to create the best recipes. Let me savor the moment of being in the baking heaven on earth!

Recipe of the year, Classic Yellow Cake

Out in rural Woodstock,Vermont, is the 550 acre Sugarbush Farm full of cheese and syrups. We tasted a variety of cheeses full of flavor and even a 6 year old sharp cheese. 40 tons of cheese from local farms are aged here then dipped in wax by hand and wrapped for sale.

Vermont cheese, so creamy and full of flavor

Cheese for snacking and serving were my thoughts while tasting these creamy samples. Then we tasted syrup and tastes ranged from delicate to robust flavors. All a matter of personal taste for pancakes and waffles. Local farms are the best!

A different syrup for everyday

A few covered bridges and rushing waters in Quechee and Taftsville, Vermont. When you drive around small towns, the unexpected sights are wonderful surprises.
