First time to Stanford University to visit niece Emma Gee and we walked through the quad area to see the Stanford Memorial Church. Co-founder Jane Stanford had the mosaics imported from Italy and the church was built to honor their only child who died of typhoid in 1884. The church suffered damages in the major earthquakes but was always restored. Saturdays has many weddings and closed to the public. The Hoover tower was built for Herbert Hoover who graduated from Stanford and it houses his library and archives. The observation view from the tower at 250 ft high can reach San Francisco on a clear day.
